Prescription costs in the United States are rising fast. Back in 2022, brand-name drugs cost about 3.6 times more in the US than in Canada. Because of this gap, states like Florida are now exploring Canadian imports for more affordable options.
Ordering prescription drugs from Canada can be safe when done through verified channels. At Pharma Giant, we believe everyone deserves safe access to essential medicines.
Here’s how we keep every order compliant, transparent, and trustworthy.
Understanding the FDA’s Personal-Importation Policy
Every prescription drug sold to US residents must come through an FDA-approved supply chain with verified labeling, testing, and tracking. This ensures that your medication aligns with the same standards the FDA requires inside the US system.
In 2006, Congress passed language in the Homeland Security Appropriations Act directing US Customs to stop routinely seizing small personal shipments of prescription drugs from Canada.
This didn’t make importation fully legal, but it signaled that enforcement became more lenient when medications were clearly for personal use and posed no safety risk.
Today, US law also includes Section 804 (j)(3) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Once implemented, this provision would allow individuals to personally import small quantities of medication from licensed Canadian pharmacies, provided six safety conditions are met:
-
-
- The medicine comes from a licensed Canadian pharmacy.
- It is for personal use only, not resale.
- The amount does not exceed a 90-day supply.
- It is accompanied by a valid prescription.
- The drug is FDA-approved and made in an FDA-registered facility.
- It meets any additional safety conditions the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) requires.
-
However, these regulations have not yet been implemented. Until they are, the FDA continues to apply its long-standing personal-importation discretion policy, which allows limited, case-by-case review of small personal orders that meet safety criteria.
What We Do to Stay Compliant
To stay consistent with both FDA and Health Canada safety requirements, Pharma Giant follows strict internal standards:
Verified Canadian pharmacies only
Independent studies show that over 90% of online “pharmacies” worldwide operate outside professional or regulatory standards, and many distribute substandard or counterfeit products. We partner only with verified Canadian pharmacies inspected by provincial regulators and compliant with Health Canada’s safety framework.
US doctor prescriptions required
Every order must come with a valid prescription from a licensed US clinician. This ensures your treatment remains under professional care, protects against dosing errors or interactions, and keeps the process compliant with both FDA and pharmacy regulations. Your prescriber remains part of the process from start to finish.
We follow strict pharmacy-safety policies
All orders are dispensed only within personal-use supply limits, typically up to a 90-day supply. This follows FDA’s personal-use guidance and Health Canada’s export policies, which safeguard both patient safety and the stability of Canada’s medicine supply.
Also note that our partner pharmacies do not dispense or ship:
-
-
-
- Controlled substances or narcotics
- Temperature-sensitive biologics that are not authorized for export
- Any product not approved by Health Canada
-
-
Full transparency and secure ordering
Each order is verified by a licensed pharmacist before dispensing. Shipments include clear labeling, tracking numbers, and, when applicable, temperature-controlled packaging to protect sensitive medicines such as injectables or insulin.
Our pricing is fully transparent, with no hidden fees and a clear policy to protect your purchase. All transactions take place through secure ordering with Trust Guard, which uses advanced encryption and site verification to safeguard your data from checkout to delivery.
