What is Accu-Check Softclix Lancets?
Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets are sterile lancets designed for use with the Accu-Chek Softclix lancing device to collect small blood samples.
These lancets are designed to help minimize pain during blood glucose testing while providing an adequate blood sample for accurate glucose meter readings. Each lancet is for single use only and should be disposed of safely after use.
Uses
Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets help collect small blood samples for glucose testing. The lancets are designed to work with the Accu-Chek Softclix lancing device, supporting routine blood sugar monitoring.
This system is designed for personal use, allowing individuals to check their blood sugar levels comfortably at home.
The lancets provide a safe, single-use method for obtaining blood, typically from the fingertip. Alternate site testing may be possible with specific device accessories.
Specifications
- Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets feature a 28-gauge beveled needle that helps minimize discomfort during blood sampling. This fine gauge allows for gentle skin penetration while maintaining accurate blood collection.
- Each lancet has a needle size of 0.4 millimeters, which is ideal for producing small blood droplets needed for glucose testing without causing unnecessary pain.
- The needle tip is coated with silicone, which reduces friction and supports smoother skin entry. This coating enhances comfort during testing, particularly for individuals who frequently check their blood sugar.
- Lancets provide a penetration depth ranging from 0.8 to 2.3 millimeters. Users can adjust the depth setting on the Accu-Chek Softclix lancing device to match their skin type and personal comfort level.
- Accu-Chek sterilizes each lancet using gamma radiation, ensuring high safety standards and reducing the risk of infection with every use.
- The lancet features a three-sided cut design, which improves comfort and accuracy. This precision-cut shape helps reduce skin trauma and speeds up healing at the puncture site.
- The system uses Clixmotion technology, which helps guide the lancet in a smooth, controlled motion. This feature minimizes skin damage and ensures consistent results.
- Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets are compatible only with the Accu-Chek Softclix lancing device. Using them with other lancing systems is not recommended and may damage the device.
- Alternate site testing (palm, forearm, upper arm) is possible only with the gray AST cap, which is sold separately through Accu-Chek Customer Care. Results from alternate sites may differ during times of rapidly changing blood glucose (after meals, insulin, or exercise).
Features
- Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets allow for virtually painless blood sampling by providing precise and controlled skin penetration. This helps reduce discomfort during testing.
- The lancing device offers 11 adjustable depth settings, allowing users to match the needle depth to their skin thickness or sensitivity. This ensures a more comfortable testing experience.
- Each lancet automatically retracts into the device after use. This built-in safety feature helps prevent accidental pricks and supports safe disposal.
- The device features an ergonomic design that makes it easy to hold, prime, and operate, even for users with limited dexterity.
- Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets are designed for single use only.
